and Guilds<\/h2>\n\n    <span class=\"ssa-junta-linea\"><\/span>\n\n    <p>\n      The Board is a federation of public associations of the faithful\n      (cf. CIC, canon 313), a non-profit organisation with its own\n      legal personality, established by the Bishop in accordance with\n      the current Code of Canon Law. It brings together the\n      Brotherhoods, Guilds and Mayordom\u00edas of Alicante&#8217;s Holy Week.\n    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <!-- HISTORY -->\n  <div class=\"ssa-junta-historia\">\n\n    <h2>History of the Board<\/h2>\n\n    <p>\n      Its history stretches back many years. To ensure the proper\n      organisation of Holy Week celebrations in our city, records\n      already show the existence, in the mid-19th century, of the\n      so-called \u201cAssociation of Religious Entities\u201d, which brought\n      together, among others, the Brotherhoods and Guilds of Alicante.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      In the 1920s, the idea was also put forward to create an\n      \u201cAssociation of Brotherhoods\u201d that could better regulate the\n      processions and establish a set of rules to be followed.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      In the early 1940s, as Brotherhoods and Guilds that had ceased\n      taking part in processions in previous years were reorganised\n      in our city, an \u201cOrganising Committee\u201d was established.
